These gay knitters talk about their Knitting Retreat, how it got started, its purpose, and what happens at the event. They also talk about what it is like to be a guy who knits.
Hosted by Harry Faddis.
Ted Myatt has been knitting for nearly 35 years, with a particular interest in lace. He has participated in on-line fibre-craft communities since the early ʼ90ʼs, and has published his blog, Knitterguy (www.knitterguy.typepad.com), since 2006. Ted lives in a quiet town on Georgian Bay in Ontario Canada.
Mike Wade, aka WonderMike, is a polite southern boy whose grandmother showed him how to crochet pot holders when he was a little boy. That was the beginning of a life-long love of all things fiber. As an adult he learned to knit, spin, and weave. He teaches in his local area, and reports about those pursuits on the Fiber Beat podcast (http://fiberbeat.com/ & on iTunes). Mike coordinates the Men's Fall Knitting Retreat on the west coast of the USA from his home in Berkeley, California.
Joe Wilcox, from New Hope, Pennsylvania, works as a business consultant, and has been knitting for over 25 years. He has been involved in multiple on-line knitting communities for almost 20 years and published the blog, QueerJoe (www.queerjoe.com) for eight years, documenting his knitting and fiber-related projects while adding much commentary on queer issues, progressive politics and personal growth.
